Plain-language explanations of terms you’ll see in our reports.
- ROAS
- Return on Ad Spend. Revenue generated per unit of ad spend. 4x = 4 back for every 1 spent.
- CPA
- Cost per Acquisition. The average cost of getting one sale or conversion.
- CPC
- Cost per Click. The average cost of each click on your ad.
- CTR
- Click-through Rate. The share of people who saw the ad and clicked.
- CPM
- Cost per thousand impressions. Common in awareness campaigns.
- Conversion rate
- The share of visitors who complete the target action (purchase, form).
- AOV
- Average Order Value. Average amount per order.
- LTV
- Lifetime Value. Total revenue a customer brings over their relationship with you.
- Impression share
- The share of eligible searches where your ad actually showed.
- Performance Max
- A Google campaign type that runs across all Google channels (Search, YouTube, Display, Gmail, Maps) from one campaign.
- Retargeting
- Showing ads again to people who visited your site or engaged with your brand.
- Attribution
- The method of deciding how much credit each ad or channel touchpoint gets for a sale.
- Conversions API
- Sends conversion data from your server straight to Meta, unaffected by browser blocking.
- Negative keyword
- A list of words that stops your ad from showing on irrelevant searches.
